Why aren’t wreaths a year-round thing? They’re just so pretty, and such an easy way to add a natural element to just about any space. Last year we rounded up our 10 favorite holiday wreaths, and the designs had us feeling so inspired that we decided to craft our own for this season… only our version is itty bitty and can be made in minutes flat. Scroll down for the easy breezy instructions, and make these in time to add just the right amount of color, texture, and seasonal fragrance to your holiday table.

Rosemary Wreath Place Cards

  1. Cut rosemary into pieces that are between 2" and 3". Do the same with your floral wire.
  2. Wedge the bottom of your rosemary sprig into a "notch" in the grapevine wreath, and wrap the rosemary around the curve of the wreath.
  3. Holding the rosemary in place, wrap a piece of floral wire around the front of the wreath, then twist in back to secure. Add more rosemary sprigs if you desire, and repeat with the floral wire to secure. Trim any excess wire.
  4. Tie name cards onto the front of the wreaths with a piece of red and white twine.
  5. Repeat until you've made a mini wreath for each guest.
  6. Place at the center of your place setting.

I love this idea! Are there any tips or tricks for making names look beautiful like this on the namecards, such as using special pens, etc? The names above look so great- I wish I could write like this!

Hi Laura! The ones you see above were hand written by a calligrapher, but I think a good quality pen goes a long way if you’re hand writing your own place cards. Check the selection at Paper Source, or even invest in a beginner calligraphy kit if you’re open to learning… those calligraphy pens and nibs make any hand writing look instantly prettier!

Daft question but how far in advance could you make these before the big day, so that the rosemary still looked fresh/nice?

    Dear Laura,

Where did you purchase the place cards from? I can’t find the exact cards at my local supply store.

    Thank You
